Player Rules & Expectations
1. Show Up & Be On Time
- Respect everyone’s time by arriving a few minutes early and ready to play
- Let the DM know in advance if you can’t make a session
2. Be Respectful
- Treat the DM and fellow players with kindness, patience, and respect
- No harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behavior—zero tolerance
3. Stay In Character (When Appropriate)
- Embrace the roleplaying aspect and stay in character during game time*
- Avoid excessive meta-gaming unless agreed upon by the group
4. Use the Right Tools
- Have a working mic and stable internet connection for Discord voice chat
- Try to avoid excessive background noise or mute yourself when a lot of noise may be happening
- Be familiar with basic Roll20 functions or willing to learn
5. Be Prepared
- Know your character, abilities, and spells
- Have your character sheet ready and updated before the session
6. No Spotlight Hogging
- Share the spotlight—give others time to shine and contribute
- Listen actively when it’s not your turn and be ready to play when your turn comes up
7. Keep the Game Fun
- Follow the DM’s lead and respect their rulings
- Avoid derailing the session with unrelated chatter or trolling
8. Content Sensitivity
- Let the DM know about any content boundaries or triggers
- Respect the tone and rating of the campaign (e.g., PG-13, mature themes, etc.)
9. Communication is Key
- Use session 0 or check-ins to clarify expectations*
- Bring any issues to the DM or mods privately and respectfully
10. Have Fun & Support the Group
- Be a team player—this is a collaborative story, not a competition
- Support new players and help create a great table experience for everyone
11. Be Active and Social
- Take part in conversations on the Discord server and help new members with any questions.
